Officially Acquainted · Last updated July 13, 2026

Officially Acquainted is a product of Aamplify LLC (DBA Officially Acquainted) ("we," "our," "the app"). This policy explains what information the app accesses, what we store, and what we don't. We built this app to be as low-data as possible: there's no login, no account, and no personal profile.

1. Your Contacts

The app asks for permission to access your phone's contacts so you can pick who to send a card to. This happens entirely on your device:

  • We do not upload, transmit, store, or have any access to your contacts on any server.
  • Your contact list never leaves your phone.
  • When you send a card, your phone's native Messages app opens with the card and message pre-filled. You choose to tap send, and at that point the message is sent the same way any text message is sent, directly from your phone.

If you don't grant contacts permission, you can still use the app's group-chat cards and browse features; you just won't be able to use the contact-picker for the one-person cards.

You can revoke contacts or notification permissions at any time in your phone's Settings app, under Officially Acquainted.

2. What We Do Store

Because there are no accounts or logins, nothing you enter is tied to your name, email, or identity unless you choose to include it in a message to us. The only things we store on our servers (hosted with Supabase) are:

  • Custom cards you write. If you use the "write your own" card feature, your card text is saved on your device so you can reuse it, and a copy is also sent to our database so we can review it and potentially add great ones to the shared card library. These are reviewed by us before they're ever shown to anyone else.
  • Card suggestions you submit. If you use the "Suggest a card" feature in Settings, the text you submit is stored in the same database for our review.
  • Contact / support messages. If you use the in-app "Contact us" feature, your message is sent to us directly (see below) and a backup copy is stored in our database in case the email fails to deliver.

None of the above is linked to a user account, device ID, or personal identifier. It's just the text you chose to submit.

3. How We Send Email (Resend)

When you use the "Contact us" feature, your message is delivered to us using a third-party email service called Resend. Resend processes the content of your message and our email address (aaron@aamplify.net) solely to deliver that one email. We don't use Resend to send you marketing emails, and you won't receive anything back from Resend unless you've directly messaged us and we reply.

4. What Stays on Your Device Only

The following never leave your phone and are not visible to us in any form:

  • Your streak count and daily card history
  • Your notification frequency and time-of-day settings
  • Your onboarding quiz answers / "character" result

5. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we schedule local reminders on your device based on the frequency and time you choose in Settings. These are generated and delivered entirely on-device; we don't have a server pushing these to you and we don't know when or whether you've opened them.

6. What We Don't Do

  • We don't require or offer account creation or login.
  • We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or location unless you voluntarily type it into a message to us.
  • We don't sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We don't use third-party ad networks or tracking SDKs in this app.
  • We don't use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or any similar identifier, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

6a. Data Retention

Custom cards, suggestions, and contact messages are kept until you ask us to remove them (see "Your Rights" below) or until we periodically clean out old, unused submissions. Nothing here is kept longer than needed for the purpose it was submitted for.

7. Children's Privacy

Officially Acquainted is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Your Rights / Requesting Deletion

Since we don't have accounts, we can't look up "your" data by logging in. If you'd like something you submitted (a custom card, suggestion, or contact message) removed, email us at aaron@aamplify.net with enough detail (e.g., the text you submitted and roughly when) so we can locate and delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact Us

Officially Acquainted is operated by Aamplify LLC. Questions about this policy or your data: aaron@aamplify.net

This is a plain-language policy covering the app's actual data practices as of the date above. If data collection practices expand (accounts, analytics, ads, etc.), this document will be updated to match.
